Focus Filmtheater is situated in front of Arnhem’s landmark the Sint-Eusebiuskerk. Since the theater is blocking the view from the square to the tower, there is a huge glass atrium in the middle, so you can see the tower through the building. At night this view line asks for an extra dimension. Beersnielsen played with the lighting design for the stairs and the atrium. We were also responsible for the lighting design for the public spaces in the building and the visibility and recognisability of the theater from the outside.
