Korenmarkt, Arnhem

The lighting of the Korenmarkt-square is part of the ‘Masterplan public lighting’ of the city of Arnhem. The lighting concept illuminates facades to enhance the experience of the city and to highlight the existing quality of the buildings that define the public space.

As part of the masterplan we also tested a new approach on the color of public lighting, using a brighter white light with a good color rendering instead of a more common and conventional orange natrium light. The indirect white light on the facades creates a different experience of the public domain. It makes people more aware of their surroundings. It expands the existing square into a new décor, the city as a background for urban live to unfold.
