The Premetro network in Antwerp had several unused lines and stations. Four unfinished stations will be completed and provided with new entrances. Beersnielsen is working on the lighting design for these stations and their entrances.

In the design of the architect the ‘concrete hardware’ from the 1970s and 1980s will be transformed into the present. Stations and entrances should be inviting, recognizable and socially safe. The tube ceilings are an eye catching part of the Antwerp pre-metro stations, in the new design these elements of the structural work will be illuminated and therefore clearly visible, this gives a feeling of space and height.

Beersnielsen works in a multidisciplinary team consisting of GROUP A, Archipelago and Tractebel.
