The Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden celebrated it’s 200 birthday with a light show on the Temple of Taffeh, an ancient Egyptian temple, which is situated in the entrance hall of the museum. Mr. Beam has been responsible for the spectacular light show on the temple, which illustrates 2000 years of historical archaeology. This light show can be seen several times a day. To give this light show a solid base in the surroundings, RMO asked Beersnielsen for a lighting design for the entire hall.
The lighting design consist of three parts:
1. Daylight situation; downlights, wall washers, spots on the temple front and light inside the temple. These lights are tunable.
2. Light which supports the 3D projection of Mr. Beam on the back wall of the hall. Lights behind the temple change color according to the color of the animation on the Temple.
3. Event light; wall washers and down lights can be set in different colors, in relation to the event. A spot for the speaker on stage and soft light for the temple front
