Museum Singer Laren has been renovated and an extra wing has been added to the existing building. Beersnielsen has been asked for advice for the renovation/replacement of the old museum lighting and for a lighting design for the new galeries of this daylight museum. The existing galleries had old transparent daylight roofs with TL. These lay lights have been closed and the ‘daylight’ on top of the glass now comes from tunable white LED. In the new galleries the translucent ceiling is made of vellum. We did tests on location to determine the the right grid, the right fixtures, the right color temperature and output and the right distance between the glass or vellum and the fixtures. The look and feel in the six existing galleries and in the new Nardinc wing blend seamlessly.
We have been working on this project in close cooperation with the client – Museum Singer Laren- en Anjo Kuiper van De Cirkel.
