KLAIR is designing the new terminal for Schiphol Airport. KLAIR is a consortium of KAAN Architecten, Estudio Lamela, ABT and Ineco, with the support of Arnout Meijer Studio, DGMR and Planeground.
They asked Beersnielsen for the lighting design of this new to built huge terminal of 100,500 square meters with a capacity of 14 million passengers per year.

Interesting in this design is the enormous amount of daylight, falling through the walls and the roof. The lighting design also plays an important part in the passenger’s routing. The architect’s idea is openess and simplicity, the lighting design will follow this concept.
